A fun hour of basic wine tasting for the casual wine drinker. Start your wine journey learning all there is to know about the components of wine, different varietals, aromas and aging. Groups may request specific areas of interest prior to the visit.

Classic Connoisseur
Hand-selected wines will be pulled from the Estate’s Vintage Library for an in-depth tasting and exploration of Château Julien’s finest. A special and unique experience for guests interested in a more extensive, intimate tasting that will satisfy the palate of any wine enthusiast

Carmel Valley Vineyard | July 2013

Our vines were so lush and bountiful that we needed to give them some tlc.

The grapevine canopy consists of the vine’s shoots, leaves and fruit. Care needs to be given so that most of the leaves are exposed to sunlight and air can circulate, keeping everything dry and promoting good fruit ripening.

Hedging takes a little off the top to limit the canopy shading while the hand leaf removal allows more of that Carmel Valley sunshine and coastal breeze to reach the clusters. All of this care leaves behind a blanket of green and clusters eager for the sunshine! Verasion is right around the corner, we will keep you posted!
