In the late 1970's, Bob and Patty Brower set out to fulfill their dream. They saw the potential in Monterey County as a quality wine growing region, and in 1982 began building what is now known as Château Julien Wine Estate in Carmel Valley, California. This year they are celebrating 26 years in the wine business.

Honey Bee Swarm at Chateau Julien Wine Estate
On May 7th, 2008 we noticed a large swarm of Honey Bees around the winery. When the bees finally landed - what a sight! The swarm was one of the largest the beekeeper has ever relocated. Bees weigh about 3,500 bees per pound. This was six pounds of bees or 21,000 total. Honey anyone?????

In America, beekeepers were opening up hives, preparing for the spring season. They found that there bees were dead and has dissappeared and nobody had an explanation for this.
