In the late 1970's, Bob and Patty Brower set out to fulfill their dream. They saw the potential in Monterey County as a quality wine growing region, and in 1982 began building what is now known as Château Julien Wine Estate in Carmel Valley, California. This year they are celebrating 26 years in the wine business.

What can happen with an early Winter Storm!
An early winter storm brought 5 inches of rain to Carmel Valley. Our grapes were still not mature enough to harvest prior to the rain - so here is what happened. The weight of the rain, the amount of rain and then 30 mph winds severly damaged the vineyard. We were able to reset the vines after the storm, however we cannot repair the damage until winter. Stay tuned!

I drink lighter Pilsner beer in the spring summer and dark in the fall and winter. My favorite summer beer is Straub thanks for sharing this article I love your site will recommend my friends
I was in Anderson Valley last April and got a taste of the wines (some truly nice stuff) and the lingo.Seeing the lingo on the back label certainly would be an improvement over most of what passes for back label wine writing…
